Mini Golf Making an Impression

Venturi's Legacy is Recognized

Ken Venturi, 81 year old, has been added as an inductee to the Golf Hall of Fame in 2013. He has won 14 PGA Tours among many other accomplishments.

Signed and Decorated Golf Ball Stolen


To celebrate the upcoming Ryder Cup, the city of Chicago had decorated its North Michigan Ave with 30 lb. decorated golf balls. This past weekend, one of the golf balls was stolen from its case. It had been designed by Jeff Budzban and signed by Jenny McCarthy.

Henry wins Reno-Tahoe Open for 2nd PGA Tour title


 J.J. Henry thought he was overdue.

The 37-year-old Henry played in 176 tournaments on the PGA Tour before he claimed his first victory at the 2006 Buick Open and had played in another 178 events without winning.

Jaidee withdraws from Firestone


Thongchai Jaidee of Thailand has withdrawn from the Bridgestone Invitational because of a sprained ankle.
Jaidee, who won the Wales Open in early June to qualify for this World Golf Championship, opened with a 73. Tournament officials say he appeared to step in a hole walking off the ninth green in the middle of the opening round.

Piercy Captures Canadian Open

Big-Time Amateur Golf in San Francisco -- U.S. Girls' Junior Championship at Lake Merced Golf Club

While the big guns were doing battle last week at the British Open, another key tournament was being contested here in San Francisco. The 64th U.S. Girls' Junior Championship was held at Lake Merced Golf Club --technically LMGC is in Daly City, but it's just a mile or so from the Olympic Club, site of the U.S. Open a month before.
